I Saw a Rose

Is saw a Rose as I was walking one Spring day

Winter's radiant rebuttal flowering so regally
Like the beauty you brought my way
Knowing after the coldest days you came to me.

However, soon the Rose's petals start to fall

Such glory cannot long live
What I thought lasting nature's rule befall
Not long does life such delight give.

And how fleeting this Rose I should have realized

What I held dearest would soon go
It does not matter how much it is prized
Too quickly would such loss know.

Soon I saw the Rose's petals fall to the ground

A lesson from which I should have gained
Not take for granted the beauty that is found
Love is less enjoyed than our hearts pained.
