Redemption

I saw the sun rise for a new day
And for this should rejoice
Except for me you didn’t stay
And the sounds of life have no voice.

But, I must arise and go through the motions
With this emptiness I must bear
All the while suppressing my emotions
Going through them when you’re not there.

Now, the moon holds it head high while mine is low
With only my dreams to find the beauty that is you
Until the morning comes to remind me what I know
Past the illusions of life you showed me what is true.

And I must go on with this painful realization
The sun that guided my day will no longer shine
Left stumbling in the dark without salvation
The only redemption I had knowing you were mine.
