The End

I know I am losing you but nothing I can do
Only watch as you are slipping away
And there is no power to get me through
Either on Earth or Heaven to let you stay.

What I thought of so much consequence
Prove so trivial in this sad light
No kingdom or its wealth of any significance
If your beauty taken from my sight.

But a barren world only so cold
Then two graves will mark their space
The one where only your memory hold
And this world where nothing take your place.

I know time will come to bring such tragedy
Standing by helplessly in its wake
Until that final day you are taken from me
Then counting the rest until I, too, it take.
