Summer is Calling

Summer is seducing us with her warmth and brilliance

I have fallen for her so many seasons before

Now I learn that you can bring me your own romance

All you must do is come calling at my door.

And then the summer and you will be allies

Your beauty under her sunny watch my heart take

And we can travel together under her watchful eyes

To see how she contributes to the love in her wake.

I know, in my heart, that you will come this way

It may be fate, it may be our affection

But the summer does not have long to stay

So, please, honey, hurry in my direction.

And then the summer will turn out to be complete

To lighten these days as a path for you here

And will be smiling down on us as we meet

And I will see summer’s best side when you appear.
