Chrissie Hynd bottom left. When she first came to the UK, to London, Adam arranged for us to play before her at the Railway, or some pub in West Hempstead. Her manager loved us so much he booked us to play at the original Marquee in London the next night. Her official first gig in London. We had to change our tickets which he paid for to Paris because we wanted to get there a day before a few gigs to chill out. We stayed, we played, he paid, we left and arrived at the Gibus just in time to jump up and play a stonking set. Debbie, I moved the Stilettos she was singing in to Club 82 just before she left and became Blondie. A man with a van. A really dodgy Dodge van. Moving bands. NYC was cool in those days. And then I left. Never looked back.
