Punk is alive and well at the It's not Dead Festival 2017 Arriving at the festival, we managed to find parking near the back of the Main Stage near the press tent. We assumed the press test would be swarming with bands and press, but when we arrived, the tent was empty and we had just missed the ADICTS by about 3 minutes, so we decided to go check out the festivities.
The event was in full force when we made our way over to find out when UNIT-F was scheduled to perform. While we waited for them to go on, we wandered through the many tents that offered a variety of merchandise, food and drink.

It wasn't long until UNIT-F hit the stage with the song "Decay", off of their new LP "Ecocide". Even with the heat, they delivered a solid set, drawing a nice sized crowd. If you're not familiar with UNIT-F check out their music here UNIT-F - Party in the White House and make sure to like them here on their Facebook Page https://www.facebook.com/UnitFband

After UNIT-F tore it up, LOVE CANAL played later on the same stage. They brought a good mix of rock and punk that kept the crowd's attention. They gave everyone a great show! If you haven't heard of this band you can check them out here on Facebook. https://www.facebook.com/LoveCanalOfficial

It was time to turn our attention to the main stage with the BUZZCOCKS who opened with their song "Autonomy". They hit the stage running as the crowd began to grow. With the slam pits in full rotation the BUZZCOCKS sounded better then ever, playing their hit songs with everyone singing along!

After they left the stage, it was just a short time until the ADICTS were up. With their grand entrance music the crowd began to roar as they came out blasting their song "Joker in the Pack". Monkey (Keith Warren) in his signature costume got the crowd screaming as he tossed decks of playing cards mixed with larger personalized ADICTS cards out into the audience. The pit was back as the crowd rushed the main stage in full capacity. At one point we saw a girl about ten years old, surfing the crowd until they let her down near the press area. She knew all of the words as she energetically sang and danced to the songs while watching the rest of the performance.

If you've never seen the ADICTS we greatly recommend you visit their Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/theadicts/ Over all, the festival was a great experience even with the heat. If you come prepared with umbrellas and water the show can be a lot of fun and a great time for loyal punk fans and their families.
